Yoga at the Lido every Monday from 2nd June 6-7.15pm £7.00, every Friday 7-8am

We are pleased to announce this special outdoor Yoga class for all,  with the beautiful moor and Cow & Calf rocks as our stunning backdrop.  We have arranged a nice private spot in the grounds of the lido (in a large grassy space between the two hedges).yoga
Price £7.00. Just let reception know you are for yoga and they will let you in. 50% of the cost goes to the Lido for further funding back into the community.Teens are also welcome with parents £4. Pay on the day in cash.
Please bring a mat if you have one, a water bottle, some sun cream if sunny, and a blanket for savasana, there will be a limited mats & blankets to borrow and also purchase if you like.
Classes are run by Emma Fotherby and are suitable for all levels of yoga, even for total beginners as all poses can be adapted for all levels, all our welcome and Yoga truly benefits all sports and lifestyles.
Emma is trained with Sun Power Yoga which is an eclectic mix of three styles:
Traditional Hatha for Alignment.
Sivananda Yoga for Subtle Mind and Breath work.
Astanga Vinyasa for Heat, flexibility and stamina.
Classes are a blend of flowing movement sequences, strength work, stretching, expanding, and breathing techniques.
Each week we will focus on our breath, breathing fully into our bodies to release any tension and linking this with our movements, Sun salutations (after a few weeks these will really flow for you), several strengthening sequences of warriors and different traditional asanas.
Standing postures will be poses which open and strengthen the whole body and develop balancing skills.
We then move to seated, kneeling, prone and supine poses. These focus on developing rotational mobility in the spine, opening the hip joints and stretching the hamstrings (back of the thighs).
Finishing in Savasana, total relaxation to bring balance and calmness through the whole of your body, mind, heart and life.
Yoga is all about removing blockages, allowing energy to move freely around the body, so we spend some time in each pose to gently persuade the body to expand.
