The Friends of Ilkley Lido support the Council by:

1. Working with the Council to apply for Grants to improve the Lido.
2. Generating funds through smaller grants and fundraising activity for specific small scale projects that are outside the current Council’s funding, and that will enhance the Lido.
3. Marketing and Generating ideas and publicity to maximise ‘gate’ income and income from other sources – so increase the attraction of the Lido.
4. Volunteering

We now have 70 Friends, 40 of which were at our first meeting on the 1st october 2008.

We have been canvassing for ideas through our blog and from posters at the Lido. These are our current priorities for 2008/09

1. Help the Council generate more revenue for the Lido – we can help with marketing, possibly provide things for rent e.g. wetsuits.
2. Raise money  - to rebuild the pavilion; for a slide for the kids
3. Support the council in getting the Lido open earlier  – by helping with cleaning and painting etc.
4. Investigate heating options
5. Investigate a way of increasing revenue in the café (suggest another hatch so walkers can buy refreshments; suggest privatising it).

6. Investigate the ‘fees’ – family tickets/late entry fee/ season ticket to last a season
